While on maternity leave, Lisa Parise set out to find healthy, sustainable, and design-worthy floor coverings that could meet the demands of modern architecture.
What began as a personal mission quickly grew into a company with the largest PVC-free commercial flooring portfolio in Canada. It is trusted by architects, developers, and design firms that prioritize wellness, performance, and environmental responsibility.
About Julia Rosen
Julia Rosen brings extensive expertise to Groupe Lacasse as the New Business Development Healthcare Director for Canada, with an impressive 26-year track record in the industry.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Julia is deeply committed to community engagement. She has volunteered her time for 17 years with ARIDO GTA, 2 years fundraising for Design Exchange in Toronto, and previously spent 2.5 years as the programs chair for the Women in Healthcare Board in Toronto, interested in advancing women’s leadership in the healthcare sector.
About Laurie Emery
Laurie is an experienced lighting designer with years dedicated to understanding how lighting design enhances the ambiance of the lighted environment and the well-being of its occupants. Her background in architecture and illumination science led her to a career in lighting design, where she discovered her true passion.
Laurie continues to utilize her professional lighting design experience at Visa Lighting through ongoing research into the application of modern lighting technology and design trends in the healthcare market. This expertise enables her to collaborate with design professionals to promote evidence-based design that fosters safety and healing in healthcare environments.
About Meghan McBride
Meghan McBride is Vice President, Strategic Accounts Canada – Healthcare + Alternative Delivery Models for the Canadian division of Tarkett. Twenty years ago she began her journey with the Healthcare built environment.
Through a series of career progressions Meghan has held several roles within the multidisciplinary team focusing on the design and construction of large scale Acute Care Facilities through the AFP/ P3 delivery model. She has a track record of successfully delivering solutions – striking a balance between human centered design, operational goals, and contractual requirements.
About Julia Hansen
Julia Hansen is a Licensed Social Worker, working toward her LCSW. A graduate of Kutztown University, she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work with a concentration in families & communities. She has worked with individuals, families, and groups in various settings— schools, residential treatment, and traditional outpatient. She has experience helping people of all ages with reducing anxiety, increasing self-efficacy, and overcoming barriers. Her practice is trauma-informed and pulls strategies and concepts from a variety of modalities to best fit the needs of each person. Her therapeutic approach is holistic, and perspective is that healing happens when we feel nurtured, supported, and empowered in a safe and trusting environment.
She enjoys hiking, indoor rock climbing, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and snuggling with her cat. She particularly enjoys reading and talking about books and poetry. She has learned that life is a wild and precious journey and is honored to be a part of helping others through it.
