This year, IDC has partnered with Awardify, a new awards platform that will ease the submission process for members and industry partners and modernize the review process for juries, bringing more transparency to IDC’s Value of Design Awards (VODA) programs.
To submit projects for VODA Interior Projects, VODA Student Competition, or VODA Product Innovation, applicants will first need to create a profile on the new platform, which will allow them to complete the application at their own pace, make edits, and access the full application package once submitted. VODA Product Innovation
Organized by IDC, VODA Product Innovation was established in 1984 to honour excellence in product design and new showroom creativity and is exclusively open to IDC Industry Partners. Entries successfully address a long list of criteria, including problem solving, budget, strategy, environmental responsiveness, and marketing objectives. In addition to showcasing products to top design specifiers from across Canada and internationally, winners will receive certificates, as well extensive exposure during an awards presentation, held during the IDC Design Symposium.
Submission Fees:
$499 + HST for first product submission entry
$120 + HST for subsequent product submission entry (Once your initial submission is completed and payment is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a discount code. This code can be applied to any subsequent Product Innovation submissions.)

VODA Interior Projects
VODA shines a spotlight on Canadian interior designers by providing a forum to showcase the benefits of design thinking: an empathetic, inventive, and iterative process focused on the human experience within interior spaces.
This award demonstrates the positive human and business impact of design thinking for the people and companies who hire a professional interior designer. By measuring the benefits and outcomes of design, IDC is showcasing the true value of design in Canada and beyond our borders.

VODA Student Competition
Established in 2021, VODA Student Competition provides students with a national platform to demonstrate the value of interior design and illustrate the positive impact design has on the users of the spaces, supported by evidence-based research.
The potential of design to positively change and add value to our lives is the focus of this recognition. As designers, we are trained to use design thinking processes to better understand the people for whom we are designing.
There is no submission fee.
