Briefing Note - IDC Industry Partners: Benefits

BRIEFING NOTE
IDC Industry Partners: Benefits

PURPOSE
To provide overview on IDC Industry Partnership levels and benefits for manufacturers and suppliers.

SUMMARY
IDC has four industry partnership levels: National Partner, Regional Partner, Local Partner, Technology Partner.

National Partner is a manufacturer or supplier whose products can be specified to design project across Canada. This partner can supply products or services to any province in Canada and wishes to promote their brand Canada-wide. National Partner has up to 25 contacts listed in the directory showcasing representatives from various provinces.

Regional Partner is a manufacturer or supplier whose products can be specified to design project across multiple provinces. (i.e., Ontario, Ontario and East Coast, British Columbia and Alberta etc.). This partner can supply products or services to specific provinces in Canada and wishes to promote their company to those target markets. Regional Partner has up to 10 contacts listed in the directory showcasing representatives from those specific province(s).

Local Partner is a manufacturer or supplier whose products can be specified to design projects in small niche markets. This partner can supply products or services to these local areas (i.e., Vancouver Island, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Northern Ontario – Sudbury, Central Ontario – Kitchener-Waterloo, etc.) and wishes to promote their company to local designers. Local Partner has up to 2 contacts listed in the directory showcasing representatives from their specific location.

Technology Partner is a manufacturer or supplier whose products are technology based providing platforms or services for designers for their projects across Canada. This partner can supply products or services to anywhere in Canada and wishes to promote the company Canada-wide.

Note: Partnership level is not only dictated by company size and capabilities as budget and marketing objectives play a significant role as well. For example, a national company may decide to join IDC as a Regional Partner if the marketing objective for that year is to promote their showroom opening in Quebec and leverage IDC as a tool to reach this specific target market.

BACKGROUND

Benefits provided for every partner level are summarized in their partner packages (PDF documents below).

The main difference between partner levels are:

National Partners have concierge service from IDC providing them with ongoing bi-monthly discussions where the goals and objectives of the industry partner are reviewed. IDC events, programs, and business opportunities are presented and tailored to each partner’s needs. National Partners have first access to all opportunities with IDC. They are the first to be presented with a selection of major sponsorship opportunities, opportunities to host IDC events in their showrooms, or to partner on development of new programs, initiatives, surveys, and more. National Partners are also the first to be invited to join industry related committees and national event committees.

Regional Partners have concierge service from IDC providing them with ongoing quarterly discussions -where the goals and objectives of the industry partner are reviewed and IDC events, programs, and business opportunities are presented. Regional Partners have second access to opportunities including major sponsorships, hosting IDC events in their showrooms, partnering on new programs, initiatives, and surveys, joining IDC committees, and more.

Local Partners do not have concierge service. Opportunities are presented in ongoing IDC communications. Local partners are specifically approached for local events and opportunities related to their past participation and where IDC sees the fit for collaboration.

Technology Partner benefits are tailored with a focus on advertising components of their technology platform/service rather than benefits relevant to in-person event attendance and sponsorships.

The fee structure for each partner level is as follows:

FEES

IDC Regional Partner: $4,000.00
IDC Local Partner: $1,000.00
