"Vieux Montreal" by @marcbherer of @desjardinsbherer

"Dans le cœur historique du Vieux-Montréal, une maison de ville sur quatre niveaux fait l’objet d’une métamorphose discrète mais radicale.

L’intervention la plus déterminante — et la plus libératrice — fut l’élimination de la cheminée centrale. Cette structure verticale, qui contenait le foyer et les conduits de ventilation des trois étages supérieurs, obstruait les perspectives et fragmentait les espaces.

Au centre du projet s’élève un escalier sculptural, véritable colonne vertébrale de la maison. Conçu sur mesure, il marie une structure en métal patiné à des marches en chêne blanc, créant un équilibre entre solidité industrielle et chaleur organique."

From Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) and Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX), to a curated journey through Belgian design, each mission offered something different and unforgettable.

The kitchen anchors the home, featuring a fully wrapped sintered stone range hood and island, paired with a timeless neutral palette. Custom millwork and a linear clad fireplace create strong, cohesive focal points.

“A space entirely reimagined with human well-being, light, and comfort at the forefront. The materiality played a central role in shaping the atmosphere of the project. Soft, natural textures; light wood; warm tones; and refined finishes were selected to foster calm, authenticity, and psychological comfort. A highlight of the project is the integration of a powerful artwork by Frank Polson."
