Thank you to everyone who was able to join us at IDC’s 51st Annual General Meeting on Oct. 27, 2023, and an extra thanks to those who were able to attend in person at the Teknion City Centre showroom in Toronto, Ontario. Your commitment to IDC is exemplary and it was heart-warming to be able to connect once again in person.
It is such a privilege to be elected as your President for the 2023/2024 term. IDC has a hard working, dedicated, and diverse team of staff and board members guiding the organization, and I look forward to working more closely with them in the coming year.
In 2024, IDC will build upon the various initiatives already underway as well as those in the planning stages. My mantra as President is “connect, communicate, collaborate, and celebrate,” with our members, our sister associations, and our stakeholders in a meaningful way.
Once again, at this year’s Symposium, the Propel Emerging Leaders program enabled participants to gather, collaborate, and breathe fresh ideas into our design community. We look forward to building upon this program in the coming year.
As your national association, IDC will continue to develop and communicate valuable advocacy services, including continuing education programming, regular updates on IDC endeavors, trade missions, and industry news and updates.
We will also continue to strengthen connections and collaborate with our regulatory provinces and territories and celebrate the diversity of all our members.
Let’s continue to promote and celebrate Canadian design by providing a platform to highlight the work of our members and the importance of Canadian interior designers.
