IDC Fellows are currently, or were previously, Registered or Full members who have been nominated and approved by the Board of Directors.
Four new Fellows were honoured this year.
Michele Sigurdson
Michele Sigurdson heads DIALOG’s national interior design discipline and leads the Vancouver and Edmonton studios’ interior design teams. She believes that inspiring interior design is fundamental to creating holistic spaces that meld function with imagination, improve health and wellbeing, and respect diversity, fostering a true sense of belonging and stewardship. Michele is NCIDQ certified and is a Registered Interior Designer with the Interior Designers Institute of BC and Interior Designers of Canada. Throughout her 26 years at DIALOG – including 14 years as a Partner – Michele’s dynamic leadership has resulted in inspiring and award-winning spaces that embody the clients’ needs, aspirations, brand, and vision.
Theo West-Parks
Theo West-Parks is the Principal/Owner of westparks+associates and a highly experienced commercial interior designer and project manager whose client roster has included Kevric Real Estate Corporation, Crown Realty Partners, Cara Operations, Starlight Investments, Revera Inc., Waterfront Toronto and Mandrake Executive Search, as well as the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, UNICEF Canada and The Children’s Wish Foundation. A passionate champion of the interior design profession, Theo is a Past President of both ARIDO and ARIDO/GTA who was honoured with an ARIDO Fellowship in 2017. Theo has been an active volunteer with IDC and is completing her term as a board member of the IDC Foundation.
Deborah Rutherford
Deborah Rutherford is a Design Manager and Workplace Consultant with over 40 years’ experience as an Interior Designer working primarily in the Corporate Office and Health Care design sectors. She is an enthusiastic long-time volunteer dedicated to advancing the profession of Interior Design. She was instrumental in developing ARIDO’s Professional Development Program and promoting CEU’s. She has chaired several committees, has been a member of IDC’s and ARIDO’s boards and served as President of both associations and Chair of the IDC Foundation.
Tiiu Poldma, PhD.
With 40+ years of expertise in interior design fields and 35 years of teaching, Tiiu Poldma, PhD., enjoys the dynamic between her work as a designer, a researcher and a professor. Tiiu holds a Bachelor of Interior Design (Toronto Metropolitan University) and a Master of Arts (Culture and Values in Education, McGill). She earned the first PhD.(McGill) in Canada in her discipline in 2003. Tiiu is an APDIQ certified interior designer and CRIR researcher. She served on the IDC Board of Directors and the IDC Foundation board.
