This position is full-time based out of our Stouffville design studio with your ability to travel within the GTA to project sites as required.
You will be:
– Working on feasibility & space planning options in AutoCAD
– Producing tender & permit construction design drawings under the guidance of principal project designer
– Developing project concept & finishes packages including sourcing materials, creating image boards, and specifying finishes
– Researching & sourcing FFE including specialty lighting, plumbing, hardware & custom solutions
– Liaising with outside vendors & consultants as required to confirm pricing, lead times and project deliverables
– Working on multiple projects in various stages of the design process while supporting the assigned project teams as required with administrative tasks
– Maintaining organized and up to date project files, samples & drawings
– Communicating and coordinating with the project team in house and with applicable outside consultants including contractors, project managers and engineers
– Attending project sites and client locations for project meetings, site audits, installations & site progress reviews during construction
– Assisting principal designer in continually developing in house CAD standards, project administrative standards, materials library, and social media content
You will require:
– A professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture, (Canadian accredited institution)
– Minimum 3 years industry experience within the commercial/workplace areas of Interior Design
– Proficiency in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office platforms
– Strong 3D rendering skills in Revit, SketchUp, 3D, Rhino, Grasshopper, and/or other modeling software programs are an asset
– Permanent residency in the greater Toronto area and ability to provide your own vehicle/transportation to attend project sites
