Ready to shape the future of Ontario’s Legislative Assembly? At the Office of the Assembly, we drive change and make an impact every day, providing non-partisan services to MPPs and supporting the daily operations of the Legislative Assembly.

We’re seeking a Designer to join our Precinct Properties Branch. Reporting to the Director, you’ll collaborate with a team of Designers, Consultants, and Facility Maintenance professionals.

What You’ll Do

You’ll act with integrity to:
• Assist in facility management for the Legislative Building and its users.
• Contribute to the development of new base building standards.
•You’ll support our collaboration as you:
• Review external consultants’ designs to meet LAO standards.
• Work with the Senior Designer to implement interior building standards.
• Maintain and update chamber seating plans, space management, and interior finishes inventories.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings for design and tender packages, covering furniture, electrical, and interior finishes.

How You Qualify

• Diploma or degree in interior design (or equivalent) and 3+ years of experience, preferably in heritage buildings.
• Ability to read and prepare architectural and shop drawings.
• Strong knowledge of building and design principles.
• Experience with project management from concept to client occupancy.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and relevant software; Sketchup and graphic design experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• ARIDO or equivalent professional membership is a plus.
