In mid June 2019, Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) partnered with Bramm Research to launch an online comprehensive survey to all members in order to help understand elements of the interior design field across Canada.
The Benchmarking and Best Practices Report, published in March 2020, has been shared with those members who participated in the research gathering survey last summer, and is now available for purchase to all members.
The report gives a detailed breakdown of a variety of topics including salaries, work status, staffing, billing rates, company benefits, marketing activities, demographics, and much more.
IDC has conducted similar surveys in the past and has previously produced the 2011 Canadian Interior Design Benchmarking and Best Practices Study and the 2014 Salary & Fees Report. The newly released Benchmarking and Best Practices Report makes comparisons to the 2011 and 2014 survey results, where possible, and provides a look at how the industry has changed, what designers deem important in commercial and residential design, and what kind of projects are in demand.
