SUMMARY:IDC + ARIDO Stage at IDS 2024
DESCRIPTION:ARIDO and Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) are partnering again at the Interior Design Show (IDS) Toronto 2024\, featuring the ARIDO + IDC Stage. This collaboration aims to cater to various aspects of the design profession\, including education\, professional development\, and community building\, creating a well-rounded program that can appeal to a diverse audience within the interior design community. \n \nThe ARIDO + IDC Stage pictured here was designed by Bryan Stone\, ARIDO and his team at Stone and Associates with valuable inputs from the ARIDO IDS taskforce members\, and incorporates elements of various scales\, designed to be appreciated both up close and from a distance. \nThe roof\, symbolizing home\, serves as a representation of ARIDO\, functioning as the home for Ontario design and a visual beacon within the convention centre\, providing a unique and identifiable presence amidst the numerous booths on the showroom floor. \nTo enhance the stage\, a versatile backdrop combining a balance of art\, design\, and architecture was adopted. This backdrop\, crafted by Molo\, a Canadian design company\, features flexible partitions that not only contribute to a neutral and textural space but also offer improved acoustic properties. These unique materials prompt us to reconsider the adaptability and flexibility of space. They align with the commitment to sustainability by providing environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional building materials which can be used for a multitude of future events. \nAnchoring the slope of the roof and serving as the starting point for the flexible partitions\, the angular black signage serves as the grounding element in the design. Contrasted with a light tone\, the ARIDO and IDC logo emerge as the central focal point. The juxtaposition of the angular lines with the soft curved textile surrounding the stage\, creates an all-encompassing design that captivates observers from any viewpoint. \n \n \n \n \n \n \nGET TRADE PASSES\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nThe Program\n\n\nThe ARIDO + IDC Stage offers a diverse and engaging program with three main segments: \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nSpeaker Series\nThursday\, January 181:00PM-2:00PM: Design to Make a Difference – Empowering the future through design todaySpeakers: Carrie Burd\, Trevor Kruse\, Danny Roppa \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n2:00PM-3:00PM: Design Impacts with DIAC – Design Industry Advisory CommitteeSpeakers: Lisa Fulford-Roy\, Kevin Stolarick\, Trevor Kruse\, Jane Henderson \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n3:00PM-4:00PM: Why Relationships Matter-an open discussion between the A&D community & designersSpeakers: Joanna Tiffin\, Luciano Bonini\, Trevor Kruse\, Theresa Schoustal \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nFriday\, January 1911:00AM-12:00PM: Demonstrating the Value of Design – through the VODA AwardsSpeakers: Theresa Casey\, Trevor Kruse \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n1:00PM-2:00PM: Disrupting Design: The importance of diversity in the interior design industry \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n3:00PM-4:00PM: Intern Competency Review System (ICRS)Speakers: Zinnia Bookwala\, ARIDO\, Alessandro Caselli\, Intern\, ARIDO \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nSaturday\, January 2012:00AM-1:00PM: How Laneway & Garden Suites help combat our housing shortageSpeakers: Craig Race\, Trevor Kruse \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nCommunity Hub: January 18 – 21\, 10:00AM to 4:30PMA unique opportunity for students and interns to connect directly with Registered Members for valuable portfolio reviews and mentorship.
