After two years of virtual events during the pandemic\, the Leaders Breakfast returns to being hosted in person this year on September 19\, 2022. \nEvery year a chosen city hosts a breakfast that features a renowned keynote speaker and recognizes one city-selected honouree who has made significant contributions to the design industry. Don’t miss Toronto’s 17th anniversary of the IDC/IIDA Leaders Breakfast\, being hosted in-person at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. \nEvent Details:\nLocation: Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel\, 123 Queen St W\, Toronto\, Ont.\nDate: September 19\, 2022\nTime: 8 a.m  – 11 a.m ET \nHonouree: Marilyn Donoghue\nMarilyn Donoghue has an international architecture and design background and is one of the most highly acclaimed interior designers in Canada. She has significantly influenced the legal recognition of Interior Design as a profession in the province of Ontario\, and by extension to Canada. \nShe ran the Public Works Design group for the Canadian Government and influenced the education system while consulting with FIDER (Foundation of Interior Design Education and Research) the accreditation organization for North American Design colleges and universities. Her dedication to both legislation and education demonstrates her commitment to the quality of life as it relates to work\, home and family\, culture and the environment\, and her dedication to ensure the future of the design profession\, young graduates\, and their influence in society. She epitomized the interior design philosophy to improve the quality of life of those who inhabit her projects. \nKeynote: Ian McCallum\nIan McCallum is a member of the Munsee-Delaware First Nation. He works with his community promoting culture\, and history and is an educator working with the Munsee language. As a Ph.D. student at the University of Toronto\, Ian is currently researching strategies to support Munsee language revitalization. His most current work looks at connections between the Munsee language and the Thames River. \nIan is an Education Officer in the Indigenous Education Office for the Ministry of Education in Ontario.
