To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members, staff, and sponsors, IDC made the difficult decision to cancel this year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/idcanada.org\/idc-2020-design-symposium-cancelled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Design Symposium<\/a> and several other in-person events.<\/p>\n<p>IDC has taken various actions and implemented new programs to ensure that members are still able to benefit from their IDC membership to the fullest.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Support for Practitioners <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Membership dues<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To give members an opportunity to take care of their health and wellbeing of their families, the collection of 2020 membership dues have been paused. IDC will not be processing any more payments until further notice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professional development webinar series<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To bring members together virtually and ensure full benefits of membership in these challenging times, IDC has launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/idcanada.org\/idc-launches-professional-development-webinar-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">series of IDCEC-approved webinars<\/a> relevant to the interior design profession and practice.<\/p>\n<p>These webinars, provided as a result of a call to IDC Industry Partners, are available exclusively to IDC members. All upcoming webinars are featured on <a href=\"https:\/\/idcanada.org\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IDC\u2019s events calendar<\/a>. By attending these webinars, members are eligible to claim IDCEC hours and receive a certificate of completion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upcoming Panels<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IDC is developing a series of panel discussions that will launch this fall. These panels will offer insight about our current situation, with respect to the interior design community, and help guide the transition back into the workforce, for business owners, designers, students, and clients.<\/p>\n<p>IDC will also be launching a series of panel discussions that will address racial disparities and racial bias within Canada\u2019s interior design industry in. As a result, IDC received the most project submissions in the history of the award. The VODA submissions have been finalized by the judges and a list of winners have been selected, who will be notified soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IDC Awards Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year, IDC will be hosting an entirely virtual awards celebration. This event will take place in the fall and will honour the Value of Design Award winners.\u00a0 IDC is also crafting a special presentation for <a href=\"https:\/\/idcanada.org\/submissions-open-for-idc-propel-emerging-leaders-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PROpel<\/a> participants this year. Additionally, a spotlight on <a href=\"https:\/\/idcanada.org\/idc-fellows-and-legacy-award-nominations-now-open\/\">IDC\u2019s Legacy Award<\/a> will showcase this year\u2019s winner.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/idcanada.org\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IDC\u2019s events calendar<\/a> and stay tuned for more information on IDC\u2019s virtual awards celebration.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Support for student and intern members<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Town Hall \u2013 \u2018Tales of Resilience\u2019 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The IDC team is calling on members to support student and intern members \u2013 some of whom are currently finishing their studies, have recently graduated, or are on the path to internships and job prospects.
