Trevor Kruse appointed CEO of the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC)<\/strong><\/p>\n

TORONTO, June 1, 2020 – The IDC Board of Management is pleased to announce the appointment of Trevor Kruse as the organization\u2019s new Chief Executive Officer. Trevor has enjoyed a 35-year career as a professional interior designer along with nearly three decades of volunteer service on provincial, national, and international boards, including the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO), the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), the Society of British Interior Designers (SBID), and the International Federation of Interior Architects\/Designers (IFI).<\/p>\n

Kruse is highly respected in the interior design profession and has made a positive impact with IDC\u2019s allied associations such as the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) and the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ). To IDC, he brings strong relationships with academia, government, media, industry partners and design trade shows and events.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrevor\u2019s understanding of and passion for the interior design profession is well established,\u201d says Carol Jones, President of IDC\u2019s Board of Management. \u201cWe know him as a strong collaborator and a respected leader. He is well positioned to build on the foundational work of Tony Brenders, IDC\u2019s previous CEO and move IDC into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Kruse is in the process of retiring as a professional designer and from his current firm, Hudson Kruse, his official start date as a full-time employee of IDC will be Sept. 1, 2020. Over the next three months Kruse will work part-time with IDC\u2019s board and staff, in a consultancy role, to ensure a smooth transition.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been a personal and professional priority of mine to strengthen and promote the position of the profession of interior design in Canada and around the world and I look forward to devoting all of my time to this passion on behalf of IDC,\u201d says Kruse.<\/p>\n
