<\/p>\nIDC recently held two successful events, a tabletop collaboration and an artist-driven social mixer, that helped create connections between IDC members and Industry Partners in engaging settings.<\/p>\n

On Feb. 28, IDC collaborated with the\u00a0CSC Building Expo<\/a>\u00a0in Toronto, the longest-running technical trade show which attracts over 300 architects, designers, developers, and engineers, for the\u00a0IDC Finishes Pavilion.<\/a>\u00a0This was IDC\u2019s first partnership with the Expo as part of the association\u2019s efforts to expand interior design brands and members\u2019 presence at the show.<\/p>\n The Pavilion provided interior designers with an opportunity to hear seminars on the latest trends in the construction industry, network with industry experts and potential collaborators, and explore cutting-edge products at a dedicated tabletop space for IDC Industry Partners and at the rest of the show.<\/p>\n \u00ab\u00a0Participating in the IDC Pavilion at the CSC Building Expo in the inaugural collaboration was a privilege,\u00a0\u00bb says Joanna Tiffin, Vice President of Commercial Sales for Biyork Floors. \u00ab\u00a0The event provided an opportunity to connect with key decision-makers in the A+D community.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n Participating exhibitors included\u00a03M<\/a>,\u00a0Alendel Fabrics<\/a>,\u00a0Benjamin Moore<\/a>,\u00a0Bezdan Railing Solutions<\/a>,\u00a0Biyork Floors<\/a>,\u00a0Caesarstone<\/a>,\u00a0Ciot<\/a>,\u00a0Fisher and Paykel Appliances<\/a>,\u00a0Hardwoods Specialty Products<\/a>,\u00a0LEVEY<\/a>,\u00a0Marble and Marble<\/a>\/AVANDAD<\/a>,\u00a0Marble Trend<\/a>,\u00a0Philadelphia Commercial<\/a>\/Shaw Industries<\/a>,\u00a0Taymor<\/a>,\u00a0UNIQ Dimensions Inc.<\/a>, and\u00a0ROCKGLASS<\/a>.<\/p>\n On April 11, IDC partnered with\u00a0Ciot<\/a>,\u00a0Crown Surface Solutions<\/a>,\u00a0ShawContract<\/a>, and\u00a0Sherwin-Williams<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0The Artist is in the Building: Spring Mixer at the Port of Montreal Tower<\/a>\u00a0(Artiste sur place : Activit\u00e9 de r\u00e9seautage printani\u00e8re au Port de Montr\u00e9al<\/a>), a social mixer event featuring art activations developed by the event partners.<\/p>\n Over 120 members of Montreal\u2019s design and architecture community gathered to mix and mingle at IDC\u2019s unique social event featuring art pieces created live at partners\u2019 interactive activations. There were also door prize draws and outstanding hors d\u2019ouvres and cocktails, complimented by beautiful views of the city.<\/p>\n Attendees included members of Metaphore Design, Camdi Design, NEUF architect(e)s, Atelier Monarque Architecture, Talo Studios, R\u00c9GIS Architecture, and more.<\/p>\n She adds that Ciot is proud of the collaboration with IDC in creating a unique and interactive design experience and that the event was an opportunity to showcase Ciot Studio\u2019s custom tile and mosaic workshop.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe event was a great success thanks to our friends at IDC as well as our industry partners!\u201d says Biber. \u201cLooking forward to the next.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAs event partners, we witnessed firsthand the power of community in fostering creativity and innovation within the design industry,\u201d says Bonini.\u201cTogether, we celebrate the synergy of talent, ideas, and passion that drives us forward.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cCollaborating with talented artists who showcased the power of colour and creativity in design set an inspiring tone for the event,\u201d says Grundy. \u201cColour is not just a visual element but a language that communicates and we were able to celebrate colour’s transformative role in shaping environments and experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n IDC is grateful for the collaboration efforts of all partners in helping put these events together.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/idcanada.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Collages-2.png\")

Crown Surface Solutions invited Karen Darling to create original artwork that are offered as custom wall murals. Emily Grundy, Division Manager of Design at Sherwin-Williams displayed custom chairs painted by artist Laura Foster with Sherwin-Williams\u2019 colour palettes. She says that partnering with IDC underscores the importance of bringing our community together to explore the endless possibilities of design, fostering innovation and connection.<\/p>\n
