All IDC members in good standing, nation-wide, continue to have full access to the IDCEC system.

On October 2, 2018, ARIDO sent a notice to all of its members regarding their Board decision to remove ARIDO from the IDCEC system. That means, it will no longer be able to administratively manage or administer continuing education compliance via IDCEC reports.

There were a number of inaccuracies in the document that was sent out. We would like to take this opportunity to correct the record, as follows:

  • IDC has and continues to be, completely transparent with all of its members.
  • IDC has stated explicitly, several times over the last 14 months, including at meetings with ARIDO and other provincial interior design associations, that it covers IDCEC fees for all provincial associations that collect dues on behalf of IDC.
  • IDC, as a core, founding member of IDCEC, pays a fee for each IDC member, giving members unlimited access to the IDCEC system.
  • Beginning January 1, 2018, ARIDO decided not to collect IDC membership dues on our behalf, something that had been in place for many years, previously.
  • As a result, beginning January 1, 2018, ARIDO became responsible for paying their portion of the dues required by IDCEC.
  • IDCEC offered ARIDO a discounted rate of $6 per member annually for all of their members, and to continue administrative access for ARIDO staff.
  • The fee for individuals who are not covered by existing agreements with IDCEC, is $5 per transaction.
  • On October 2, 2018, ARIDO officially declined to pay their portion, thereby foregoing administrative access to IDCEC.
  • All IDC members in good standing continue to have full access to IDCEC’s system without any further cost to them.
