Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 52nd Annual Meeting, and the IDC’s Design Symposium in Toronto in recognition of Canadian interior design and the work of all our talented designers.
As we witnessed at the symposium, and continue to see every day, there is so much to celebrate in our industry. I am honoured to be the IDC President for the 2024/2025 term and am pleased to be able to give back to a profession that has afforded me great opportunities and surrounded me with an amazing community of professionals, design enthusiasts, and trade partners.
My primary initiatives as the IDC President this year will be utilizing members’ feedback gained from last year’s membership surveys to align a strategy that guides the organization in creating value for our members.
With the support of the IDC Board of Directors and our members, we want to build on the national initiatives already underway, including professional development, trade partner networking, and learning initiatives.
Our aim is to lay the groundwork to help increase membership numbers over the coming years by fostering inclusion and conducting an evaluation of membership categories.
We hope to help increase the profile of Canadian design talent, through internation trade missions, and align some of the organizational efficiencies for a more streamlined governance and communication strategy.
There is much work to be done but there is no better time to build an even better interior design community that supports our members and promotes growth and mutual support within our profession.
I look forward to hearing from many of you over the next year and continuing the great work with design communities and manufacturers, throughout the country.
Sincerely,
Sean Crawford
IDC President
