This webinar will guide you through two technical subjects from the 2015 National Building Code of Canada (NBC) and 2012 Ontario Building Code (OBC).
Part 1 will deliver an overview of basic requirements for door hardware including code requirements as applicable to electric strikes and mag-locks, and where to use each device.
Part 2 will feature an overview of interior finish requirements – code requirements and flame spread ratings; the differences between the ASTM-E84 and the ULC-S102 test methods, and key differences in test protocols to determine ratings

Lisa Miller-Way is the Director, Project Management with LRI –the largest wholly-Canadian owned engineering firm specializing exclusively in fire protection engineering, building and fire code consulting, and emergency planning services. She is a graduate of Conestoga College (Architecture Construction Engineering Technology), a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists [OACETT] and a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). In addition to over 17 years of expertise in Building Code and fire protection engineering gained on a wide variety of complex building projects, Lisa serves on the Ontario Building Code Commission.
