PROpel is a national competition created exclusively for emerging leaders, providing the opportunity for engagement in discussions and connections with influential representatives in the interior design community. This year, the opportunity to engage and connect with designers in the industry will look a little different in light of the effects of the global pandemic. Instead, each participant will be announced as part of a promotional series on a weekly basis with a short profile published across IDC’s social media platforms, newsletters and honoured at the IDC Awards Celebration on September 23, 2020.

Congratulations to all 2020 Emerging Leaders Program participants!

Laura Goodsman

Providing the value of design is what gives
meaning to my profession and fuels my
passion and purpose to do my job well.

Laura Goodsman’s career began when she graduated with a diploma in interior design from Lakeland College in Alberta, in 2015. She worked for a couple of years in commercial office design before returning to school to obtain her bachelor’s degree in interior design from Yorkville University, in Ontario. She was able to complete this online while working full time and during her schooling accepted a position as an intern designer at 1080 Architecture, Planning & Interiors. She graduated with distinction in 2019, just in time to have her first child. She currently lives in Regina, Saskatchewan with her husband and daughter. Laura loves a good latte, doing anything outdoors and the feeling you get inside when a design works and looks just right.
