Christine Weber, IDC President

Thank you to everyone who joined us at IDC’s 53rd Annual General Meeting on Dec. 9, 2025, which was held virtually this year. We appreciate your continued support of IDC and our interior design profession.

It is an enormous privilege to be elected as your President for the 2025/2026 term. I take this role on with great enthusiasm and gratitude to our community.

One of my goals as IDC President is to broaden access to and increase awareness of interior design research. This is an area within our profession that is underutilized and much needed. IDC members and industry partners should have access to state-of-the-art research to inform their practice and expand the knowledge base within their firms.

Technological advances are ushering in big changes in our field, and we, the industry experts, should be at the forefront of this transformation.

IDC is committed to celebrating members’ work and showcasing compelling interior design stories across the country. We want to highlight specific design practitioners and disciplines that are behind projects that are changing the landscape of interior design.

Our aim is to dive deeper into topics such as design for neurodivergence and cultural inclusivity, or multigenerational design and environmental gerontology, and showcase how the research, ideas, and practices can be incorporated into interiors in all sectors for spaces that are accessed by the public.

My goal is to foster an open dialogue, to engage with members on some of these timely and significant topics, and to be able to respond in a meaningful way.

I look forward to connecting with many of you over the next year and hearing your feedback and ideas for our collective growth and possibilities within our industry.

Sincerely,

Christine Weber
IDC President
