PROpel is a national competition created exclusively for emerging leaders, providing the opportunity for engagement in discussions and connections with influential representatives in the interior design community.
Emerging leaders will have the opportunity to hear an inspiring keynote presentation and network with their peers, industry professionals, and the IDC board at the PROpel Emerging Leaders Program and Mixer during the virtual 2021 IDC Design Symposium this fall.
In addition, each participant will be announced as part of a promotional series on a weekly basis with a short profile published across IDC’s social media platforms, newsletters and honoured at the IDC Awards Celebration on Oct. 13, 2021.
Congratulations to all 2021 PROpel Emerging Leaders Program participants – Anna Walker, Leanna Cheung, Kayley Mullings, Jade Crabbe, Jesse Wyman, and Kayla Lindgren.
Jade Crabbe
“Without taking ownership of that responsibility of honouring cultures, traditions, human psychology, spiritual needs and self-awareness within each of those we leave our users without all the value of the design that could have been.”
Jade Crabbe is an interior designer with heritage from Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Han First Nation, from Dawson City, Yukon. Jade is on a mission to change how people inhabit and engage in physical space through the power of interior design. Her mission is to inspire others to see that everything we have a part in is connected through the language of art and the science behind it. For Jade, the opportunity to be a participant of the PROpel program is a fabulous opportunity to bring a gentle light to Indigenous cultural awareness, expand her exposure to other perspectives and creative individuals, and to be a positive influence. She hopes to gain insight into where the industry is headed and gather to create with other designers who have vision of something greater.
