This webinar will explore how to use material properties and characteristics to specify roller shade fabrics for a variety of residential applications. The presentation will cover how to thoughtfully select roller shade fabrics for areas of a home with specific needs related to an occupant’s comfort and well-being, such as damp environments, sleeping spaces, and areas with acoustic requirements. It will also dive deeper into understanding colour, structure, and weave of a shade fabric as well as how material affects an automated shade’s ability to protect interior finishes and spaces.

Cary Pepper has always been inspired and intrigued by beautiful spaces, this has motivated and guided her in the architectural and design industry for the past 20 years. She has lived and worked throughout Canada and now resides in a small city West of Toronto. Cary is involved with a variety of influencers collaborating with reps and partners to bring design projects to fruition. Cary is the Brand Ambassador and Sales Manager for Residential Shades including Luxury awareness in Canada with Lutron Electronics Canada Co., Inc. For the past seven years she has passionately managed businesses and launched various products and programs from the West Coast to the East Coast. Cary is committed to design across Canada and is very engaged with the IDC including sitting on the planning committee for the 2019 and 2020 Design Symposium. When Cary isn’t travelling for work, she finds herself exploring the world, practicing yoga, learning about new cultures, and entertaining her family, friends and beloved hounds.

Jamie Kinsella is the national sales manager for commercial shades for Lutron Electronics Canada. He has 16 years of experience designing for masonry and landscape projects across North America. He has a strong passion for working with energy efficient and solar automated projects through Lutron’s very diverse product line. He is a member of several home builders and construction associations and recently joined the IDC industry committee. Away from the workplace, he is passionate about hiking, gardening, coaching hockey, and being anywhere there’s a beach and a cold drink.
