Italian Design Days

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver and the Italian Trade Agency ITA, in Toronto, is organizing the second edition of the “Italian Design Days”, a series of events, virtual and in presence (by individual appointments), taking place in Vancouver from April 7th to 15th to promote the excellences of made in Italy design with its world renown craftsmanship, superior quality, innovative, cutting edge technological solutions and global trend setting style.

In the past several years, thanks to the announcement of many new high end construction projects by local real estate developers in collaboration with Italian architecture studios and design companies (e.g., Palazzi di Westbank, in collaboration with Studio Lissoni), and thanks to the opening of many new showrooms of high-end Italian design brands, such as Poliform, Armani Casa, Stefano Ricci etc., Vancouver has become a premium market and excellent showcase for the Made in Italy Design in Canada.

The first edition of Italian Design Days in Vancouver saw the participation of 6 different local showrooms of Armani/Casa, Valcucine, Cappelleria Bertacchi, Ambry Interiors Inc., LightForm, Poliform and Habitat by AEON, that organized private/by invitation open house events. After a great success of that initiative, organized last year (October 1-8, 2020) within the framework of Western Canada’s most important interior design show, IDS-West, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West is now pleased to expand this promotional initiative into more events during 2021 – in April, July and October – that will focus on promoting Italian design industry and Made in Italy design brands among design sector professionals and among the most demanding consumers in Western Canada.

The upcoming April edition of “Italian Design Days” – taking place from April 7th to 15th – will comprise virtual seminars and presentations organized in collaboration with Istituto Italiano Design in Perugia, NABA/Domus Academy/Istituto Marangoni in Milan and Artex Tuscan Collections in Florence, as well as open house appointments and online campaign showcasing new collections in interior and fashion design at participating local showrooms in Vancouver.

During the Italian Design Days, the Italian Design Map online platform will also be promoted. The Italian Design Map is a powerful online tool that features Italian and Canadian businesses and promote the beauty and excellence of Made in Italy design, outside of Italy. The platform provides visibility both to Canadian showrooms and design professionals, and to Italian brands that are not represented in Canada yet, and are looking for representation.

The Italian Design Map is a powerful online tool that features Italian and Canadian businesses and promote the beauty and excellence of Made in Italy design, outside of Italy. The platform provides visibility both to Canadian showrooms and design professionals, and to Italian brands that are not represented in Canada yet, and are looking for representation. All businesses are easily searchable by name, category, or location, and can be directly contacted through the form on the website.

ITALIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN CANADA-WEST
Formally recognized by the Italian Government, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada West (ICCC) forms part of a network of over 150 offices in Italy and 80 foreign Italian Chambers of Commerce throughout the world. ICCC is one of the most active and respected bilateral trade organizations in Western Canada with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Rome.
