Intelligent Carbon Choices for Interior Design (Green House Gasses)
The Paris Agreement has nearly all countries in the world committing to becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Building systems, material and product selections play a large role in reducing the GHG emissions as well as waste that is created in the design and construction of the built environment. This session will provide you with tools and resources to utilize to help achieve a zero carbon goal.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the policy framework around carbon emissions and the need for world-wide reductions
- Learn the difference between embodied and operation carbon, as well as Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission types
- Know the impact of materials and product selections on embodied carbon
- Be aware of resources and tools to model carbon / GHG emissions and Lifecycle Assessments
