Design Week Calgary 2025

Calgary’s inaugural Design Week is a festival dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the exceptional talent within Calgary’s design community. Created by designers, for designers, this event opens the door to our creative world, inviting the public to join in appreciation and discovery. Festival creators see design as a unified economic force, driving innovation and fueling growth in Calgary. Their mission is to honour and amplify its impact.

The festival theme is ‘In Pain Sight” which celebrates the seen and unseen aspects of design. Design Week Calgary honours the full spectrum of design, from the visible and tangible to the hidden and intuitive. The event brings together visionaries, makers, and thinkers to explore the power of design across disciplines and cultures.

The week’s lineup consists of a fashion experience with designer Stuart Trevor, a design-inspired film festival, an industrial design exhibit, a series of talks on design and an interactive installation. Throughout the city, partnering organizations will host 15 additional satellite events, including IDC’s Dinner with a Designer event in partnership with Syndicate Hospitality Group.
