Design Meets Sound: An Evening with Meyer Sound
August 14

Don’t miss this inspiring evening exploring the intersection of design, experience, and immersive audio, presented by Retail Design Institute Canada featuring guest speaker, Jerry Arthur Placken, Director of Strategic Relations & Corporate Innovation at Meyer Sound.
About the Talk
“As experience-driven spaces become the new norm, high quality sound and immersive audio are emerging as powerful design elements.”
In this exclusive talk, Jerry Placken explores how advanced audio technologies are transforming how we design for retail, hospitality, and entertainment environments.
With a global portfolio that includes Apple, Google, Meta, DeepMind, AMAN, Foster + Partners, Gensler, HOK, and Cirque du Soleil, Jerry serves as the bridge between visionary clients and Meyer Sound’s technical innovation team. His work enhances the customer and employee experience through bespoke, integrated sound and acoustic solutions.
A Canadian-born musician and engineer, Jerry has worked in advanced audio since 1987 and has been with Meyer Sound since 2006. His team has created sound systems for artists like Ed Sheeran, Metallica, and Michael Bublé, and studios such as Skywalker Sound and NBC Universal.
Whether you’re attending in person or virtually, you’ll gain invaluable insights into why sound and immersive audio can and should be such an important part of the customer experience be it a concert venue, theatrical production, restaurant or retail store.
