As we honour the contributions of Canadian designers during National Indigenous History Month, join IDC at the Global Furniture Group showroom in Vancouver for a special in-conversation with Indigenous interior designer, Jade Crabbe on the topic of incorporating Indigenous design into daily practice, working with Indigenous communities, and starting, and thriving in, your own business.
Jade Crabbe
Owner and Design Director
GreenJade Interiors
Jade Crabbe is a status citizen of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Han First Nation, from Dawson City Yukon, Wolf Clan, living off-the-land, mother of three, former-youth-in-care, neurodivergent, teen-mom, high-school dropout with substance abuse and homelessness problems who always found solace in design and creative expression.
Her professional endeavours began in T’kumlups (Kamloops) as an installer in construction, then advanced with a Bachelor of Interior Design, graduating from KPU in 2020. While working for an Architecture firm, she pursued her EMBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership and graduated from SFU in 2022.
These days Jade wakes up in an undying effort to inspire those around her to see that everything we are is connected through our environments and is always seeking opportunities to advocate for Indigenous Youth at risk of houselessness and neuro-spicy youth.
