In a time of much uncertainty in the interior design industry due to the global impacts of COVID-19, the IDC team is calling on members to support our student and intern members – some of whom are currently finishing their studies, have recently graduated, or are on the path to internships and job prospects.
IDC is seeking speakers to participate in an upcoming town hall to share ‘Tales of Resilience.’ The event is intended for student and intern members to learn from senior designers and industry leaders, ask questions and gain insight into how to move forward in their careers.
Additionally, IDC has opened its Career Centre to design firms and industry manufacturers and suppliers to post internship positions at no cost. Submit your ideas and positions below.
Town hall in support of student and intern members
- Have you experienced the impact of the economic recession of the early 1980s, the 2000s or the financial crisis in 2008 as a designer or business owner? Do you have a personal story that could help uplift and inspire the next generation of interior designers? What survival strategies helped you through your career challenges?
Send us your pitch (in 200 words of less) for IDC’s ‘Tales of Resilience’ Town Hall: empathic personal stories of surviving and thriving through industry crises. The Town Hall will be presented as a virtual panel discussion for students and interns who are embarking on interior design careers during this unprecedented time in our industry and history.
IDC would love to hear from you!
