The Interior Designers of Canada are very pleased to announce that the Association of Registered Interior Designers of New Brunswick (ARIDNB) have passed an act that defines the practice of interior design in New Brunswick.

“After many years of hard work from countless people, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that ARIDNB’s Act: Bill 63-‘An Act to Amend An Act Respecting the Association of Registered Interior Designers of New Brunswick’, has gone through the first, second and third reading and received Royal Assent on May 5th. The Interior Designers of New Brunswick now have an act that defines the practice of interior design in the province,” exclaims Rachel Mitton, the President of ARIDNB.

“The passing of this act is not only a huge accomplishment for the province of New Brunswick and ARIDNB but the profession as a whole in Canada. It is achievements like this one that propel the profession to new heights, especially as we bring the public along this important journey. It also helps us to spread the message that design impacts lives. We want to keep this momentum going and continue to advance the wonderful interior design community forward. The push continues across the country as we are all striving for the same recognition and understanding, no matter which province,” says IDC CEO, Tony Brenders.

As our community celebrates this victory, IDC congratulates all those who put in tireless hours to obtain this act and extends an invitation to all to help spread the word of this great accomplishment.

“I cannot express the feeling of receiving this news while we were together as a group at DesignEx, especially since we were also celebrating the 30th year of our Titles Act,” Says Mitton. “I would like to thank IDNS for sharing their documents and knowledge, saving us time and precious resources; IDC for financial assistance in order to proceed with the considerable cost of such a venture; and all provincial jurisdictions for any and all help you have provided be it directly or indirectly.”
